#8 Behind The Wheel

When raising 8 kids you reach certain milestones like:

-no more bottles or diapers
-everyone being able to dress themselves
-they do their own homework
-they really don't want you to eat school lunch with them anymore
-they've graduated from Primary
-they like to sleep instead of stay awake

and we have reached another one...

Abby #8 has started to drive.  She will turn sixteen the end of this month and so we have a learners permit and are learning to drive.

This means

-mom gets the glorious time of sitting in the front right seat and continuouly pushing the floor as if she were braking.
-yelling, "WATCH OUT!!!!" because I have no time to put into words that the back of the car in front is WAY too close!
-having to let Abby drive EVERYWHERE...even to church when we are late and need to hurry!
-realizing that somewhere, somehow she will wipe out a car, and hopefully only a car, before she truly realizes what driving is really all about.
-and mostly feeling a bit melancholy because she is old enough to do all of the above.
