Color Run

A fun thing that the girls did this summer was to participate in the Color Run.

They bought white shirts and went to run and have fun.

Apparently you run and they shoot color at you while doing so.

Needless to say they were pretty colorful when they came home.

(BTW Lacey's good friend from Alabama, Kathleen Tiller, came to do the Color Run and to visit.)

Davis didn't want to have much to do with his mom...
But she finally convinced him that she was alright and that he could kiss her...
A fun time!!

On My List of Worst Things To Do

Twice a year we go through the house and garage and gather all the things that are not in use and haven't been used in the last year. Then put a price on it and get ready for a garage sale.

The night before we set up tables using chairs and plywood, hang bars from the garage doors, and pull out the big heavy stuff.

And then wake up at the crack of dawn, set all the stuff on the tables and bars, put the signs out, and sell for the next 8 hours.

I  H.A.T.E. doing it.

So why do we do it??

We make $1500 just selling our junk!!

So off to Branson, Missouri we go for a family vacation paid for by selling our junk!! (smile)

Here's a Davis funny:

I was putting up bars to hang clothes on and Lacey came down the driveway with Chase and Davis and she sarcasticaly asked, "What is crazy Nuna doing?"
Davis piped up and said, "She's selling the garage!!"

Summer So Far

I  can't believe how busy this summer is!!
It all started when we traveled to Huntsville (Madison) to attend Sam's graduation and bring him home.
When we came home from Alabama Lexi's and Dayton's wedding was the next weekend...what a whirl-wind that was!!
No sooner than we settled back to normal life the bishopric asked LaVor and I to teach a marriage class every Sunday night.
(My girls tell me these high heels are in style right now...Abby was called up to the podium today in Sacrament meeting to receive an award and she was taller than the bishop!)
And we decided to do a garage sale!!
Of which we did yesterday and cleared $660!!
And since we did so well and because Lexi and Dayton still have a bunch of stuff to sell we will have another yard sale this coming weekend!!
And then we will take the $$ and go on a vacation to who knows where!!
So you can see this summer has, is and will continue to be busy!!
But we are having a good time!
Except for Davis...he doesn't look like he is having too good of a time.
Just kidding...he is having fun!!

Hope your summer is also as busy and fun!!

All 26 of us!!

Abby

Abby, my beautiful Abby.  I can't believe that my baby is 16...dating and driving!!  What happened?? I was never going to have my last baby grow up!!
Abby is a really good girl...A perfect way to end a family.  She has learned a great many lessons from her older siblings and so is better prepared for life than most 16 year olds.  She is a good student and wants to be a beautician.  She reminds me a ways of my sister Denise.

I love this beautiful girl!!

Sam

So happy to have my boy back home.  It was a good year for Sam and I know he really enjoyed attending and graduating from Bob Jones High School.  He was with his two best friends, Wess Hess and Kent Fellows and made new ones such as Brigham Parker.

A special thanks to his sister Alisha for letting him stay in her home and with her family.  I know Sam appreciated her effort and love.

I enjoy this guy.  He is funny.  He reminds me at certain times of my brother Jeff.

He is filling out his papers to go on a mission and so in a few more months I will be without my Sam again...but I wouldn't have it any other way.

The Minters

We've only just begun
 to live
 White lace and promises

A kiss for luck and we're on our way
We've only begun

Before the risin' sun, we fly
So many roads to choose
We'll start out walkin' and learn to run
And yes, we've just begun

Sharing horizons that are new to us
Watching the signs along the way
Talkin' it over, just the two of us
Workin' together day to day,
together

And when the evening comes,
we smile
So much of life ahead
We'll find a place where there's room to grow
And yes, we've just begun
