Sunday Today

Had a good Sunday today.
I enjoyed the talks in Sacrament Meeting on gratitude.
Had all four missionaries for lunch.
Enjoyed a roast beef lunch with all the trimmings.
Desserted with home-made vanilla ice cream with homemade magic shell (love Pinterest)
Had family council with the family.
And took some family pictures.

The weather was beautful today.  It was warm enough that we ate outside.
Maybe just maybe the weather will hold out and we can enjoy
Thanksgiving outside....
That's probably hopefull wishing...

The boys adore Dayton...if you couldn't tell.

Chase is preparing to karate chop Rooney...

Cute kids!

The Cat in the Hat with Thing 1 and Thing 2

Lacey always picks a theme and dresses the boys and herself up for Halloween.
This year...
Cat in the Hat with Thing 1 and Thing 2!

Aren't they cute?  Even down to the blue hair!

We gathered at Miller's house with some friends and set out to Trick or Treat.
The boys made a haul with the candy.
Davis' favorite candy...Hershey bar.
Chase's favorite candy...Kit Kat bar.
Lacey's favorite candy...Reese's peanut butter cup
Nuna's favorite candy...Whoppers

We enjoyed a chili meal with the friends and then came home and hit the hay because school was tomorrow.
It was a fun Halloween.
And again we had no Trick or Treaters come to our house...wonder why?????

The Question is Popped

A couple of weeks ago I had a feeling that something was brewing.
During the previous week Lavor had to mysteriously go to work around 8 pm.
Dayton had to go HT around the same time.
Just previous to this I got a text from Dayton wanting LaVor's number.
And then LaVor went around asking for everyone's ring size (said he needed it to get rings for all those who participated in the Gladiator Grind photo shoot) and made a emphasis on getting Lexi's ring size.
It was 3 am and I was awakened by the thoughts that when all these things were put together it spelled ENGAGEMENT!

The next morning I approached LaVor with my enlightment and he denied it all!! (of course)

But then on Sunday afternoon during scripture reading and family council meeting, Dayton got down on his knees and asked for Lexi's hand in marriage.  We all stared in disbelief as to if this was actually occuring.  After a few minutes Dayton and Lavor reassured us all it was for real...and Lexi said YES!!

Dayton glued a "HUGE" rock on a ring because Lexi and told him that she wanted a "HUGE" rock!!

Happiness

True Love
And so know we have a wedding to plan...

The Race

At the Pumpkin patch there were bouncy horses to ride!
The kids lined up and decided to race...

Chase and Davis are out...

Neck to neck...

Lacey pulls out in front.

Everyone thought that the finish line was straight ahead except Lacey who thought that she should turn the corner and head back on the other side...

What the..???

Lexi tries to  catch up.

Man over board...

Lexi and Chase decide to can the horses and run to the finish line.

HAHA...it was fun to see.

The Pumpkin Patch

I love fall. And if it wasn't that winter was banging at the front door, fall would be my favorite season...
And if I think about it a bit even if winter is so close, Fall is my favorite season.
I love that the kids get back into school and life gets into a rhythm.
I love crisp cool days (such a relief after the so very hot summer!)
The beautiful colors of the changing leaves.
The desires to bake and cook warming soups, stews and breads.
Crisp apples.
Foot ball games.
And going to the pumpkin patch!

It is a tradition that we have to go to the pumpkin patch.
This year we went to Livesay Orchards pumpkin patch in Porter, OK.

It was a beautiful day
and our friends the Parrish's came with us!

We got to go on a hayride to the patch....

And pick our pumpkins....

Nuna and D scouting the patch to find the perfect pumpkin!

This is our harvest.
Pumpkins to carve, paint, and decorate.

Happy are we!

Riding a bouncy horse.

Super fun Autum Day!
